Pesto & Garlic Butter Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons pine nuts (or walnuts)
- 2 large cloves garlic
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil, ½ cup of Parmesan, freshly grated
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 6-8 cloves grated fresh garlic
- 1-2 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon white or black pepper

Directions
- Combine basil, nuts, and garlic in a food processor until finely minced.
- With machine running, dribble oil until smooth.
- Add the cheese and process briefly.
- In a small pan over medium- low heat, add tbsp butter and when it has melted, add the grated garlic.
- Saute the garlic for 1 min. Do not let it brown.
- Add the remaining butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- Cook until butter is melted.
- Combine the pesto and garlic butter, add lemon zest (optional)
