Pesto & Garlic Butter Sauce

Ingredients

    Pesto

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts (or walnuts)
  • 2 large cloves garlic
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil, ½ cup of Parmesan, freshly grated
  • Garlic Butter Sauce

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 6-8 cloves grated fresh garlic
  • 1-2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon white or black pepper

Directions

    Pesto

  • Combine basil, nuts, and garlic in a food processor until finely minced.
  • With machine running, dribble oil until smooth.
  • Add the cheese and process briefly.
  • Garlic Butter Sauce

  • In a small pan over medium- low heat, add tbsp butter and when it has melted, add the grated garlic.
  • Saute the garlic for 1 min. Do not let it brown.
  • Add the remaining butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • Cook until butter is melted.

  • Combine the pesto and garlic butter, add lemon zest (optional)
